“In short, Gary’s food is fantastic, and his crew very professional.”

“I’m writing to give my strongest recommendation to Gary Bulmer Fine Catering. Gary catered our wedding of 60 people at a private home in April 2010. We found him through a co-worker for whom he had baked a wedding cake that she could not stop raving about. Our primary goal for our party was to have great food, not typical wedding food. So we had him cook a sample dinner for us and our neighbors that consisted of lamb lollypops and stuffed mushrooms for appetizers followed by pork loin with romesco sauce and a baked halibut. This food was all fantastic and we were sold on his cooking.

Our only concern with Gary, as opposed to a larger operation, was his ability to pull off this party in the relatively small kitchen. After reviewing other’s recommendations of his work we were convinced to give him a chance.

Our party went flawlessly! Gary and his crew of 5 handled all the rentals, set-up, cooking, serving, and clean-up/ rental take-down. The appetizers and champagne toast came out exactly on time. Everyone raved about the lamb-chop apps, but the tuna tartar, stuffed mushrooms, and prosciutto wrapped melon were also very fresh and tasty. We built in a 30 min pause between apps and dinner so guests didn’t get too stuffed, and allow them to find their way to tables for dinner. As soon as the guests were at their tables, the plated salad came out, (it was also fresh and crisp) and servers took the orders for fish, pork or vegetarian. The food was as good in this large party as it was in our kitchen at the tasting. All the guests enjoyed their dishes. For dessert, we had cupcakes instead of wedding cake. Gary made two flavors carrot cake and dense, dark chocolate. The carrot cake was the best I’ve ever had (I eat a lot of carrot cake!). We also had a fruit&cheese platter. The kitchen was cleaned, left-overs packaged and rentals broken down right on time.

In short, Gary’s food is fantastic, and his crew very professional. We highly recommend him for your catering needs.”
